Just because the war went quickly and Saddam is out doesn't mean it was the right thing to do. If you speak about law, you must follow law, whether you like it or not. This administration is a walking hipocrisy. While it's of course not just about oil, look who's getting the big contracts coming up... look who's getting control and "first dibs," look how the administration is trying to shut out those in the international community who did not support the war. If the war was supposedly to enforce a UN resolution, which it did by circumventing the clear will of the UN, the US has not place deciding anything. That is one of the clear indicators to me of the intentions of the adminstration regarding Iraq. Too many coincidences to be clean, and definitely not ethical. Then again, who other than Bush and his cronies have ever accused him of being ethical? I just about peed my pants with laughter hearing him talk about "Corporate Responsibility," and if it weren't so dangerous to so many people, I'd laugh about his bullshit about a Free Iraq. Watch. It will become a suburb of the US. Watch who gets put in charge. Bankers, Oil men, Corporate heads who have been exiled. That's not creating democracy. It's creating oligarchy. Which is truly what the administration is trying to do. Iraq's interests are to be aligned with the money and oil industries. Not the interest of the people of Iraq. While I have no doubt that life will improve for Iraqis, you should have no doubt that the war had nothing to do with that but use it as an excuse.
