A very popular leading indicator of market
movement occurred today. Maria Bartiromo's hair was the WORST that anybody
could remember every seeing it!
CNBC's Bartiromo has become a cult figure over the last
decade. During that period, many market gurus have abandoned the more
traditional market indicators such as: darts thrown at a dartboard, chicken
dropping on the New York Stock Exchange Composite Transactions pages of
the "Wall Street Journal", and drug-induced dreams. They now simply follow
Maria Bartiromo's hair.
It looked BAD, REAL BAD. Her eyes were pretty blurry, too.
The only problem is that not enough charting has been done
to determine whether Bartiromo's hair condition is a plus or contrary
indicator. My personal pick is that it's a contrary indicator, i.e.: Bad
Hair = Up Market, Good Hair = Down Market. That would indicate that the
next few days should be GREAT for the bulls ('cause her hair looked BAD).
But, there's just not enough data to say for sure, one way or the other,
at this point.
At any rate, the next few days in the market should be VERY
active.
