PIE-IN-SKY TURNS SOUR: Dubya Bush dragged us and our billion$ into a no-win war because God told him to. God sure goofed, didn't he. The next time Dubya gets some free advice from on high, let's hope he keeps his feet on the ground, his eyes open, and his mouth shut.

HURRAH FOR SOLUTIONS: American occupation of Iraq is the problem, not the solution. BRING OUR TROOPS HOME!

NOCHEAPSKATESWE: It's wonderful how bad things can turn into good things if you just let some time roll over them. For instance, rivers of American ink and skyfuls of electrons were unleashed at that beastly iron-curtain Berlin Wall. So now on America's southern border we throw hard-pressed dollars into building another one. It's a better one though, Taxpayers. Steel instead of just ordinary old iron.

YOU'RE WELL IF YOU'RE BETTER'N ASICK MAN: The governors of the states of Russia are appointed by Pres. Putin's government rather than elected by the people. But this is not undemocratic, mind you. Why? Because, says Putin, the government of India does the same thing!

CONTEMPORARIES, NOT TWINS: In the big World War II memorial summit meeting Host Putin stressed that "security" and "justice" are the world's main concerns. Well, talking the security line is always good for a round of applause, especially from makers of locks, electronic devices, uniforms, etc., etc. And justice--should be plenty of that around; hasn't been used much in recent years. But beware, Mr. Putin. Don't charitably assume that officials keen about security are also interested in justice.
JUSTICE FOR ALL
"Think global"?
No, never.
Think noble.
It's people
who matter,
not grabbers.
Think people!
H'RAY FOR NO. 17! Sixteen nations of the world treat women better than the USA, in salary, job access, education, health, and political representation. Augusto Lopez-Claros, Program Director of the World Economic Forum , stresses: "Any country that is not using half of its citizens efficiently is going to pay a high price in the long run." This may be old news to the governments and bosses that steal billion$ from workers, but it's good old news.

PAY YOUR DEBT TO SOCIETY, TERRORIST! Israeli officials want greater punishment dealt out for terrorism carried out by persons committing suicide. Seems reasonsble. How about sentencing such persons to l00years in Purgatory?

NOTHING IS EVER ALL BAD: General Richard Myers told Congress the Iraq adventure was costing our armed forces a high price that would handicap combat operations in other parts of the planet. There's one high price we can be thankful for.

NOTABLE QUOTES: "What the American Government has done is suck up all (of immigrants') blood and sweat and giventhem nothing more thanabuse and persecution."--Immigrant Rights Director Beatriz Maya "Right to life encompases a much broader field than just abortion. If I'm a proponent of life, I have to think about providing prescription drugs to seniors or sending young men off to war.--Rev. Joe Urcavich
